recycled glass bowls

Just in is our new collection of recycled glass bowls. The glass is sorted by color, melted and mouth blown by artisans in Europe into the various fluid shapes and soft aquatic colors reminiscent of sea glass.

Each bowl is heavy and great for everyday use as a salad or fruit bowl. Simply hand wash when done.

Besides the ones in this image, we also have starfish, clams and oblong bowls available. Since no two are alike, they are available only through contacting or visiting the store. $20-$100.

how do dripless tapers work?

If you have never tried burning dripless taper candles, you would be surprised that, given the correct conditions, they work!

There are many ways dripless taper candles are made; some have thick wax on the outside and faster burning wax on the inside that evaporates as it burns. Although this type of construction is effective, it has chemical additives that may affect your air quality.

There is a more natural and method that is just as effective. Our European dripless taper candles are made with a thick, precisely centered wick that absorbs the wax as it liquifies while burning. The melted wax is absorbed into the wick, then burns off as the flame heats it. The added advantage of this high quality dripless taper is that as the taper absorbs the wax, the burn time increases. That is why our 12″ dripless taper candle will burn closer to 14 hours, that’s 2 hours longer than average!

Remember, that for any quality dripless taper candle to truly be dripless, there should not be any draft or wind near the candle. It is also important to keep the wick trimmed and the candle level. Order your favorite colors, burn and enjoy!

Design Star winning room featuring Fusion Home

If you are an HGTV Design Star fan, perhaps you noticed some familiar items in the winning room created by designers Antonio, Tori & Dan. We were a bit uneasy when we heard Tori mention the customer asked for beige, yet she loaded a truck full of lime and blues from our store, but they did a great job pulling it together!
I personally did cartwheels when one of my favorite designers and Design Star judge, Candice Olson of Divine Design, pointed at our Weave wall panels and remarked how she loved the texture they created on the wall.
Although not all items are available in our online shopping section, all are available over the phone or in store. Not brave enough to suffer the various forms of sunburn possible testing the market’s most natural sunscreens, our hats are off (but they shouldn’t be in this sun) to the team at www.grist.org for their scientific, humorous and sometimes painful eco-sunscreen trial.

“Over the last several weeks, Grist staffers scooped up several of the readily available eco-brands—four sunscreens, which protect by absorbing ultraviolet rays, and five sunblocks, which provide a physical barrier on your skin—and tested them on our sun-deprived flesh. From the wan streets of Seattle to the blazing beaches of the Dominican Republic, we ventured out with nothing between us and the sun but some eco-promises.”
